About the Role

As a Spray Technician at U.S. Lawns, you'll play a critical role in preserving the health and beauty of our landscapes. You'll be responsible for the safe and effective application of plant health products, managing your truck and equipment, and ensuring customer satisfaction with every visit. This is a hands-on, independent role that requires responsibility, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and professionalism.

What You Bring:

Knowledge of: turf and ornamental care, chemical application practices, basic irrigation systems, and industry-standard equipment.
Skills in: communication, organization, independent work, safety compliance.
Licensing: Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid state pesticide applicator’s license.
Driver’s License: Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
Independence: Ability to manage time and tasks without direct supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Management

Represent U.S. Lawns in a professional, courteous manner while wearing approved uniform.
Communicate effectively with clients about treatments, schedules, and concerns.
Proactively notify clients of upcoming applications and answer basic questions about products being used.
Escalate client concerns to management when needed and keep leadership informed of site activity.

Crew & Workload Planning

Schedule daily workload and prepare tools, materials, and equipment.
Train self and team on company standards using the 5-Star Training Series.
Maintain positive morale and collaboration on-site.

Safety Management

Follow all safety protocols related to chemical handling and equipment use.
Wear proper PPE at all times as per product labels and safety guidelines.
Participate in and lead tailgate safety meetings.
Ensure secure storage of chemicals per OSHA, state, and federal guidelines.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

Operate and maintain spray rigs, spreaders, tractors, over-seeders, and other landscape equipment.
Perform regular inspections and maintenance to keep tools and machinery in working order.
Keep all assigned vehicles and equipment clean, safe, and presentable.

Quality Assurance

Perform site inspections and communicate current conditions to management.
Apply plant health products according to label instructions and contract specifications.
Monitor results and ensure applications protect or improve plant and turf health.
Understand irrigation systems and identify repair needs.

Office & Administrative Duties

Read and follow work instructions in English; maintain detailed documentation.
Responsible for completing various forms, including:
- Equipment Service Calendar
- Spray Request & Pesticide Application Record
- Vehicle Safety Inspection
- Quality Control Inspection
- SDS Sheet Review & Maintenance
Track and manage chemical inventory, orders, deliveries, and product safety storage.
Stay current on industry regulations, best practices, and licensing requirements.

Physical & Work Requirements

Must lift up to 60 lbs and work in various outdoor conditions (heat, rain, humidity).
Frequent walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing.
Exposure to chemicals, moving parts, and environmental elements.
Moderate noise levels expected from equipment and vehicles.

Compensation: $23.00 per hour
